Momma Peach had had enough of Wilbur Minston for one night. She plopped back down onto the couch and folded her arms together. As she did, her eyes went up to the painting of Gavin Minston. That’s when Momma Peach saw a pair of real eyes take the place of a pair of painted eyes. “Oh…my…” she whispered, feeling her skin turn white as a sheet. “Mr. Sam…Michelle…” Momma Peach raised a shaky finger and pointed at the painting.

Michelle quickly scanned the painting and noticed the change of eyes. “Sam—”

“I see it,” Sam whispered.

Kelly grabbed Momma Peach’s hand. “There’s someone behind the painting!” she yelled.

Wilbur spun his wheelchair around and threw his eyes up at the painting. When he saw human eyes staring down at him he nearly wet his pants. Brian, Momma Peach quickly noticed, sat very still without showing much alarm. “You there…behind the painting…come out at once!” Wilbur demanded in a shaky voice.

“Leave or die,” a voice hissed.

Brian had expected to hear a voice he recognized. When instead he heard the voice of a strange man, he tensed up. “That’s not Edwin Grayston,” he whispered in a shaky voice.

“Leave by morning…all of you. Except for you, Mr. Minston…you stay,” the voice hissed again.

Momma Peach managed to shake off her fear. “Show yourself, turkey!” she yelled in a voice that didn’t sound as confident as she had hoped. Feeling trapped in an old black-and-white horror movie with a killer running loose wasn’t exactly thrilling to a woman like Momma Peach—a woman who got spooked very easily when it came to old, scary houses and cobwebbed basements. Sure, Momma Peach had used such places to spook a few killers in the past…but when the shoe was on the other foot…have mercy!

“Leave by morning or you will all die,” the voice hissed again. “I want Mr. Minston. Give him to me and no one will get hurt.”

“You’re…insane!” Wilbur yelled. “What…do you want with me? Who are you? I…demand answers!”

“You’ll get all the answers you need,” the voice promised. “Do as I say and you will live.”

Momma Peach immediately knew that the man standing behind the painting was lying his back end off. She quickly glanced at Brian and saw that the man’s facial expression had changed. Brian was now scared and filled with confusion and worry. “Not the man you know, huh, turkey?” she asked.

“Huh…what?” Brian asked in a startled voice.

Momma Peach slowly stood up. “You ain’t getting Mr. Minston, chump,” she told the man behind the picture. “You want him, come and get him!”

Michelle and Sam hurried to Momma Peach’s side with their guns drawn. “There is no way you’re going to harm anyone,” Michelle called out.

“Either do as I say or Kelly will die…someday,” the voice threatened. “I will hunt Kelly down and kill her if you don’t turn Mr. Minston over to me and leave…all of you.”

“Ken?” Kelly’s horrified whisper slipped into Momma Peach’s sharp ears. “No…it can’t be…it can’t be…”

Momma Peach stepped in front of Kelly.
